Trends in education come and go, but good teaching remains constant. By building positive relationships with students, teachers can influence work and study habits, foster creative and critical thinking and nurture the development of social emotional skills. With a solid foundation, students will have the skills to positively interact with others and pursue their post-secondary dreams.

Learning is a life-long journey. Learn something new everyday, especially about the people around you! Being open-minded and inquisitive enables us to build meaningful interactions, develop empathy, and celebrate our similarities and differences. With improvements in communication and easy access to information, it is important to evaluate the validity of sources, understand different perspectives other than our own, and make informed decisions.

What You Like Most About KBS

I love everything about KBS! As a teacher, I appreciate my supportive, hard-working, creative and dedicated colleagues who encourage each other to strive for teaching best practices. As a parent of a KBS graduate and a current student, I love knowing my children are in classes with caring faculty, that activities and opportunities are purposefully planned for the development of the whole child, and that they are surrounded by a strong sense of community. KBS strives to provide an inclusive, safe space for all students to learn and grow into globally-minded citizens.

Hobbies & Interests

You can find me running in half marathons or cycling around Simcoe County, making a meal for my family and friends, gardening or reading a good book. I love spending time with my children and supporting their interests and hobbies, including competitive sports teams and music lessons. I also enjoy long walks with our dog, live theatre, date nights with my hubby and traveling to historic places.
