Grade 4 Homeroom
I think it is important that schools foster a positive and safe learning community that acknowledges and supports who we are as individuals. I believe a school community should help students on their unique journey of self-discovery; to find out who they are, discover what their talents and passions are, and support them in finding ways to overcome their learning challenges. Above all, schools should guide us toward making a positive difference in the world.
Ultimately, what I think matters most in education is that we find ways to be happy and harmonious on this planet. Education should instruct one on the art of living. Therefore, an education for life is one that helps one to discover and develop the inner resources to become happier and more peaceful.
I like being part of a caring community striving to make positive change in the world. At KBS, I feel motivated to be the best I can be, so that I can help others. And I notice others feel that way, too.
I try and keep my life simple. I work toward appreciating the everyday small things in life that often go unnoticed and cultivating peace within myself. I find being a vegetarian, spending time in nature, and practicing mindfulness helps with that endeavour.
