Director of Achievement and Wellness
Ms. Carrie Lane has 25 years of experience in education. Six of those years were spent teaching in an International School in Chiang Mai, Thailand, while nineteen years have been dedicated to KBS. Through the years, she continued to gain knowledge through a variety of professional development experiences, the latest being her Principal’s Qualification with an independent focus which helped prepare her for her current position as Director of Achievement and Wellness.
Carrie believes that there are three essential components which help create student success: a positive relationship, promoting a growth-mindset, and effective communication. Having a positive and empathetic rapport with students is the single most important ingredient in maintaining a productive and safe learning environment. While pedagogy and teaching strategies continue to evolve, Carrie’s philosophy remains constant - students learn best when they can trust their teacher. They learn through making mistakes and recognizing that they can overcome barriers. Regular and honest feedback helps students raise their own bar.
Carrie is excited to continue her role as Director of Achievement and Wellness, and further build on the relationships in the school. She strongly believes in the KBS motto: I Can, I Will.
