Junior Kindergarten Homeroom Teacher
I believe that what matters most in schooling is helping students develop strong work habits, the ability to communicate effectively, as well as an understanding and acceptance of those around them.
Trends in education come and go. The focus of what is viewed as important is constantly changing. At times it is difficult to keep up. Despite the constant changes, there are a few things that always remain extremely important in education: teachers who truly care, communication, and the understanding that learning is a lifelong process.
What I like most about KBS is the sense of community. The interactions that take place amongst students from various grades is incredible to see. Watching a primary student’s face light up when an older student takes the time to offer their assistance or just say hi is heartwarming. I also love how the staff all work together and are supportive of one another. It truly is a unique little school.
Friday night, game night is one of the things I look forward to the most. I absolutely LOVE strategy games. In addition to that, I enjoy camping, hiking, paddle boarding, rock climbing, and mountain biking. I also enjoy horseback riding. Before having children I used to compete in both Western and English classes. My favourite classes were jumping, barrel racing, and pole bending.
