We are different, and our story is worth sharing.

There seem to be an endless number of reasons why someone may choose to blog. Perhaps they feel they have something to say, a strong opinion or perhaps they simply have an interest in writing.

 

This blog is being written for one simple reason; we are different, and our story is worth sharing.

 

We are structurally, culturally and pedagogically different. We are an independent school, not a private school. This makes a world of difference, and I am happy to explain in a later post or you can visit our website to learn more.

 

We deeply value the power of community and relational learning which allows us to focus intentionally on both achievement in its many forms and well being. We are mission driven, and at the core of that mission are the students we work with and grow with each day. 

 

Over the course of the coming school year, this blog will discuss achievement and well being, transitioning to school from daycare, the evolution of a meaningful report card, how tuition assistance may enable a mission fit student to be a part of our community, and will celebrate the learning, growth and development of everyone here at KBS.

 

We are different, and our stories are worth telling. It is my hope that as the year progresses, that you, too, will see what we live each and every day at Kempenfelt Bay School.
