Student Life - Kempenfelt Bay School

Student Life

At Kempenfelt Bay School, we pride ourselves in our ability to create an appetite for knowledge. We offer a curriculum that is rigorous yet flexible, and which extends far beyond the four walls of the classroom. We know that when children understand why they are learning what they are learning, stronger connections are made, and material is better retained. We achieve this by linking what they learn in class to the world around them.

Our school motto: I Can, I Will.

The Houses

Named after four of our founding families, our school’s Houses offer students an instant sense of belonging as they are welcomed to one of the four Houses upon admittance.

Students participate in a year-long points race against the other Houses in the school promoting house-pride and teamwork.
This race includes activities like:

  • Sports Day activities
  • Community outreach programmes
  • Charitable fundraising
  • School challenges for individuals and entire Houses

Sense of Belonging

One of the greatest benefits of belonging to a House is the relationships that the students have with their housemates. From Day 1 they have an instant group of friends ranging from the most junior in Kindergarten to the Grade 8 House Leaders.

These housemates sit together, work together and have fun together for their entire KBS student careers.

Co-curricular Programme

Our co-curricular programme offers activities in the areas of athletics, music, art, technology and other academic and community initiatives. The focus is to develop personal growth and to enhance each student’s academic experience.

Did you know?

At KBS we don’t believe that sports, clubs & activities should be “extra” to the curriculum, that’s why we call our programme co-curricular. This is a core belief that is held by Your Education Team and it’s part of our education plan.
