Letter from the Head of School
Since 1999, KBS has been a co-educational academically challenging and creative school by intention, not by accident.
We spend our days and our resources focused solely on helping our student learn how to learn. As a result, we are educational leaders in the Simcoe region.
This intention allows us to be laser focused on our work and leads to thoughtful and deliberate programming in support of our mission – an exemplary education that empowers students to embrace their personal potential as productive and responsible, global citizens.
In order to embrace their personal potential, students must be presented with authentic opportunities to test and develop the courage required to learn and grow. Our academic and co-curricular opportunities are designed to provide these moments and therefore animate this growth. Whether on the field, in the classroom or in the hall, life unfolds and demands that we make decisions based on our values. KBS is a values based school and we draw our students to these values as part of their KBS journey.
A KBS graduate will have an abundance of experience knowing what learning and decision making feels like in a well supported environment. They will therefore be confident in employing this skill set as they build relationships, test their thinking and find their place as an active member of society within and beyond our walls.
Kempenfelt Bay School matters because we develop something that matters; productive and responsible global citizens. We are unique, and our exemplary faculty and staff provide the trusted adult mentoring necessary for this development.
We are simply not like other schools. And as you explore your educational options in search of a school that shares your values, we invite you to visit with us. I look forward to meeting and speaking with you.
