KBS in the Community

In the News

The weather at this time of year can be unpredictable and will often leave you guessing when you decide how to dress before you venture outside. On Sunday, November 26, the Kempenfelt Bay School Middle School Concert Band dressed for what turned out to be a great day and joined for the first time in this traditional and wonderful community event.

With hats, scarves, a few blankets and gloves with no finders, our students boarded a 40-foot float and played a number of holiday favourites as they moved East along Innisfil Beach Road. As can be seen in our Strategic Plan ( 2018 – 2023 ), it is a strategic priority for KBS to continue to deepen and broaden our community connections and we are proud to have contributed to this day. It was also wonderful to see so many community members from such a wide variety of businesses and organizations in attendance.
As we have with our music programme in the past, our hosting of the Innisfil Terry Fox run and our participation in the Innisfil Welcome Wagon event earlier this fall, we will continue to embrace opportunities to be a good and contributing member of our community.
My deepest ‘thank you’ to Georgia Bravakis and her team of dedicated KBS parents and grandparents of the KBS Parent Council for the work done to build and decorate our float. It looked great! Thank you, also, to Ms. Heo for her dedication in having the band ready to roll.
What a wonderful way to kick off the holiday season!
