Kempenfelt Bay School will offer a two-week academic consolidation program in both Mathematics and Language during the final two weeks in July, and a two-week academic primer program in both Mathematics and Language during the second and third week of August.
These offerings will be done remotely and open to:
Students are able to register for either program or both the consolidation and primer programs.
The programs will be instructed by KBS faculty members.
One hour per day on each of the listed days, plus additional work on the off days.
The mathematics consolidation program will consist of the key components of the work that has just been covered the school year prior for each student. In advance of the summer program, a packet of information for each grade between grades 4 and 8 will be prepared in advance and shared daily in advance of each class. This will allow for work to be shared, discussed, worked on and the student will then have the following day to also work on the packet from the previous day and ask questions at the next class.
The mathematics primer program will consist of the key components of the work that will be covered in the upcoming school year for each student. In advance of the summer program, a packet of information for each grade between grades 4 and 8 will be prepared in advance and shared daily in advance of each class. This will allow for work to be shared, discussed, worked on and the student will then have the following day to also work on the packet from the previous day and ask questions at the next class.

The language consolidation program will focus on reading comprehension and writing. In advance of the summer program, a packet of information for each grade between grades 4 and 8 will be prepared in advance and shared daily in advance of each class. This will allow for work to be shared, discussed, worked on and the student will then have the following day to also work on the packet from the previous day and ask questions at the next class.
The language program will focus on reading comprehension and writing activities that will be focused on in the coming year. With respect to timing, we have three one-hour slots that will run in the mornings of the designated days. We will fill the earliest slots first to a maximum of five participants and then move to the next time slot once the first is full. The first will run from 9 am - 10 am with the next two following in sequence.
