About Our Remote Learning Plan
Kempenfelt Bay School launched a Remote Learning Plan on Monday, March 23, 2020 for students in Junior Kindergarten to Grade Eight.
Students are expected to actively engage in the Remote Learning Plan. All students have opportunities for daily activity and consistent interactions with all of their teachers.
A Blend of Synchronous and Asynchronous Learning
Students engage in a blend of both asynchronous and synchronous learning. Asynchronous learning activities are posted at the beginning of each week and synchronous learning opportunities are scheduled regularly throughout the week.
The RLP provides for the continuous learning of our students and directly aligns with our main core values of Competence, Confidence, Character, and Community. The RLP allows for the continued building of relationships, the teaching of important character traits and personalization.
Emphasis on All Subjects
The KBS Specialist Subjects – French, Art, Music and Physical Education are still being delivered. Specialist teachers have a dedicated Google Classroom where they deliver their program to all students.
Delivered through Google
At KBS we use the Google Suite to deliver the Remote Learning Program. This involves back and forth communication between students and teachers on Google Classroom, links to learning material and face to face conversations through Google Meet.
